Methodological framework and considerations for analyzing the current status of controlled clinical research
Explore MethodologyCurrent search results do not directly include content analyzing the status of controlled clinical trials on Qigong published in Korean journals. Therefore, it is difficult to present actual data on this matter.
Instead, referring to research methodologies and academic journal publication standards identified in search results, we provide methodological approaches and considerations that can be utilized when analyzing future Qigong research trends.
Utilize academic databases with keywords such as "Qigong", "controlled trials", and "clinical research" to gather relevant publications.
Systematically classify retrieved papers based on research design, target diseases, intervention methods, and primary outcomes.
Evaluate methodological quality of selected papers through randomization, blinding, dropout rates, and other key indicators.
Utilize academic databases to search for relevant papers using keywords such as "Qigong", "controlled trials", and "clinical trials". Domestic databases primarily used include KISS, RISS, ScienceON, OASIS and others 3 .
Systematically classify retrieved papers based on research design (randomized controlled trials, non-randomized controlled trials, etc.), target diseases, intervention methods (types of Qigong), primary outcomes, etc. The methodology from 3 's bee venom research can be referenced.
Identify relevant academic databases and develop comprehensive search strategies with appropriate keywords.
Screen titles and abstracts to identify potentially relevant studies, then assess full-text articles against inclusion criteria.
Systematically extract data from included studies and classify them according to predefined categories.
Evaluate methodological quality and synthesize findings to identify patterns and evidence gaps.
When analyzing research or writing papers, it is important to familiarize oneself with the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). These recommendations present international standards for the production, reporting, editing, and publication of medical papers 1 .
According to ICMJE, to be recognized as an author, one must satisfy all four criteria: conception/design of the work, data acquisition/analysis/interpretation, drafting or critically reviewing the paper, approval of the final version, and accountability for the research accuracy 1 .
Editors and authors have the responsibility to ensure that research is conducted and reported ethically. Particular attention should be paid to ensuring that local researchers from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) are not unjustly excluded from the author list 1 .
Provides guidelines on how to transparently and accurately report various types of health-related research 1 .
Essential guidelines for reporting randomized controlled trials. Must be referenced when analyzing Qigong RCT papers 1 .
| Database | Primary Focus | Access |
|---|---|---|
| KISS | Korean studies & journals | Open |
| RISS | Korean academic publications | Open |
| ScienceON | Korean scientific research | Open |
| OASIS | Korean scholarly information | Open |
Systematic analysis of Qigong research trends would significantly contribute to strengthening the evidence base for domestic complementary and alternative medicine research.
By utilizing the analysis methodologies and international standards introduced above, we anticipate that future research providing useful insights will be conducted.
